No need for tablet pc

Why I don’t need a tablet pc

This is a brief write up to explain why I don’t need a tablet pc. I have brought myself 3 tablet pc in the last 2 years. Starting with the Notion ink Adam. I brought it on my birthday February 12. It is a tablet with a swivel  camera 3.2 MP, dual core process, 1024*768 pixel screen, 10.1 inch screen, 1 GB ram, with usb port, stereo speakers, folded magazine design, sing card slot. If you compare the spec with the market leader it virtual killed the Ipad with the spec but like they say spec is not everything. They never calibrated the UI properly so it used to crash. The ribbon interface was awesome in concept where we can run three apps at same time but it was only a concept. This same concept has been stolen by Samsung for their note 10.1 and Microsoft windows 8. Too bad a company that could have been a trend setter ended up being laughing stock of the tech world. This thing was buggy, no customer support, took 2 months 2 deliver and it was a sad excuse for a tablet. I spent 550 dollars for it and I sold it for 540 dollars on the net. I really regretted buying it as I brought it thinking it was a startup I love underdogs and I wanted to support an Indian firm. I just wish this firm closes down as it is an insult to all the patient people out there

The second tablet I brought a Blackberry Playbook. It is the future OS of blackberry. I brought it when it was on discount. It was 7 inch in size just about perfect size but unfortunately it suffered from lack of software and application support. It has great screen, nice light weight, and nice speakers but unfortunately initial high price killed it. It never got on the market it price dropped from 500 dollar to 200 dollar when I brought it. What will people with a blackberry when it doesn’t even support the things blackberry are famous for like bbm, mail etc. The failure of this single product really screwed up blackberry

The third tablet was the new IPAD which is technically IPAD 3 with the retina screen. It was 9.7 inch tablet with the 2048 * 1600 Retina display which apple harps and install in nearly all their product. I brought a 32 GB version from outside. It was really nice screen with powerful graphics. It had the support of so many apps around 270000 when I brought it. Now I don’t have it either as I realized it is just a facade. I rather have a large mobile or a laptop that can substitute as a tablet. It had a 5 MP camera which took decent picture in the proper light conditions. Moreover people look silly with taking picture with tablet but it is a nice option. It was the second best camera on a tablet after Asus Transformer Pad TF 700T or popularly called Transformer Pad Infinity. But after playing with it must say it is the perfect size as it is really slim 7.2 mm slim 308 grams In weight with a 5MP camera at back and a HD camera at front. The bad thing about is the screen which I am sure Apple which change to retina display

The main reason why I sold it was the launch of the I pad 4 within 6 months thereby outdating my Ipad. Apple just used to change their product once a year but within 6 months they launched an all new Ipad this is really sick. Also never liked the proprietary nature of Apple. We need to use apple product all the time and the OS was too simple. I would say it is a granny OS which is 2 simple for my taste. This was done mainly to compete with the Android Juggernaut as they were really beginning to challenge the Apple dominance of Tablet as they did with the smartphones.

Aplle for the first time responded to a challenge and launched a me too product in the Ipad Mini which is essentially a Ipad 2 shrunken down to 7.9 inch from 9.7 inches.

I will buy a tablet pc hybrid as it is the future the problem with touch screen tablet  are that they are not comfortable for typing for a long time though it is portable. You can carry it around and show it but what is the point as if you want to use office application or chatting we can’t use it for long. That’s where the new Windows hybrid comes now. We can use it as dual tablet and pc. It is the future of computing as we can do hardcore office and gaming on them and takes picture and show off with people.
